Wild Georgia Shrimp Fried Shrimp “N” Gravy

1 lb. medium Wild Georgia shrimp (peeled and devained)
1 large onion (diced)
2 cups flour
1pint buttermilk
Wesson oil
Water
1 tbsp. garlic salt
1 tsp. Red pepper

In large bowl combine buttermilk, garlic salt, red pepper and stir thoroughly. Add shrimp. Marinate for 30 minutes.

In large zip lock bag add flour, take Wild Georgia shrimp out of marinate (about 6 to 8 shrimp at a time), place in bag and shake vigorously until well coated. Place Wild Georgia shrimp on wax paper until ready to fry.

Fry Wild Georgia shrimp in large frying pan in ˝ inch of Wesson oil until brown. Place shrimp on platter.

In same frying pan add onion, 3 or 4 tbsp. of flour and simmer until flour is brown. Add enough water to thin flour mixture and simmer for about 10 minutes. Add salt and pepper to taste and then add fried Wild Georgia shrimp back into gravy and simmer for about 5 more minutes.

Serve over cooked rice.
